I am Melissa, daughter of the most high King. Made in the image of God. Crafted from the dust of the stars, filled with Divine breath. Called out of darkness and adopted into the Light. Emancipated from shame. Lavished upon with green pastures, still waters, and cups over flowing with shalom. A golden brown, curly, curvy, holy temple of God's Spirit. A royal priestess, bearing a crown of beauty, wearing garments of praise, and glowing with the oil of joy. Called to be an Ambassador of Beauty, a Midwife of Peace, for such a time as this.

I met Jesus in my early 20's. I had no idea who I was or where I was going with my life. It's taken 20+ years so far, but he has been slowly, lovingly transforming me into the person I was created to be. This process picked up speed dramatically when I discovered Spiritual Direction. I have met with my Director at least once month for a few years now and she has helped me uncover my true self and to better hear what God has been calling me into.

Since then, I have been trained by the Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction and my family and I have joined a Vineyard contemplative church plant in Franklinton, Ohio, called the Franklinton Abbey.

As a life long lover of movement, particularly dance and yoga, I finally completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Squad in 2018. I entered my teacher training with the intention that my yoga would be my beautiful offering to God. A way of worshiping Him. But through the intense training process, He revealed to me that my yoga was actually His gift to me! When I don’t have words to express my heart, my breath and movement become my prayer language. To Him and from Him.

God has stirred in me a passion for hospitality. It is my joy to create peaceful, beautiful spaces for you to feel safe, welcomed, and loved. Spaces where you can feel free to experience God's presence and engage with Him authentically and creatively.  Whether that is in my home, in a spiritual direction appointment, or within a yoga class or retreat. This is who God created me to be and the work He prepared in advance for me to do (Ephesians 2:10) and it is my joy to share it with you.
